British Military Surgical Conference

The meeting is aimed at all surgical specialties from both regular and reservists in all three UK services.

The conference is been held in conjunction with the Military Surgical Society and encompasses all branches of military surgery. This year additionally delegates from the Defence Medical Services of nearly 50 nations [NATO countries and the G20 group of nations] are invited.

Combat GauzeTM and WoundStatTM become standard

The US Army surgeon general has approved Combat GauzeTM as a replacement for HemconTM.

Georgian Military Medicine - Reality and Perspectives

A Round Table “Georgian Military Medicine-Reality and Perspectives” was held at the Gori Military Hospital. During the meeting the medical personnel of the Ministry of Defence discussed the issues related to military medicine and future perspectives. The attention was also focused on the current functions and future tasks of the Gori Military Hospital.

At present approximately 100 patients are being treated in the Hospital, among them are some civilians as well.
